Day 3 & Wrap up for Team ‘24

If you missed the previous Team blogs, please see Day1 or Day2 here

The final frontier

Okay after what was an incredibly packed Team conference this year, we hit the final day and wrap up of 2024.

We started the day, with a moment I wouldn’t forget. Last night I was shocked as our local ACE chapter. ACE Solent, won an award from Atlassian community. It was one of the most surreal feelings ever and what an honour it was to be recognised and win

I would like to thank everyone who has supported the ACE chapter up to now and I look forward to what the future will bring. From the bottom of both Mine and Mikes heart, thankyou.

Automation to liberation

Yesterday, Rodney Nissen (The Jira Guy), Darryl Lee & I were invited onto stage by Tyler Woolstenhume from Appfire as we discussed what automation means to us, how it has changed over time & how to be ready for the future. The session could not have gone better, with a full theatre turnout. The session had a great takeaway and I enjoyed the questions after with all of the attendees. Unfortunately the session could not be recorded on the day due to restrictions within the conference, however, Appfire and my fellow panellists have agreed to film the same talk online to share in the upcoming weeks so stay tuned for that.

Day 3

Okay, on to the rest of the day. This again is a slightly more calmer day then yesterday, but as the second full day swings into gear. What did we learn?

My day was spent going round all of the final marketplace vendor stands today. There is some amazing tech being produced out there.

Kantega are creating a new more advanced user management app for cloud. Enabling us to really understand our use base and how they use our tools. It’s a new app, but I was glad to be able to have a chance to give my feedback. Check out the app.

Appfox are continuing to improve the Optimiser for Jira app creating a much better, cleaner system for all admins. Go check that out.

Tempo have been working hard on improving the AI on time tracking. The aim is to make it as zero touch as possible. What I saw was really really exciting. I’d definitely take a look.

wrap up

Bash, as always, was a lot of fun. It was great to finish the year on a high & celebrate with all my fellow ecosystem friends everything that had been achieved. This year we had the XS nightclub all to ourselves, but of course the more important thing is, what should we expect from next year?

Personally, looking at where a lot of the focus has been for Atlassian this year I’d say we would continue to see a lot more in the world of AI & Rovo. I imagine the marketplace will see an entire new section for new AI agents. Maybe we will even see a scriptrunner agent that will help your write scripts, or an Appfire agent that will be able to design dashboards or workflows for you.

I also imagine additional functionality around admin functionality designed to help keep systems clean.

Not sure about you, but I cannot wait to see what the following year brings.

Until next time.
