Team 23 wrapped up

WOW WHAT AN EVENT!!

Team ‘23 did not disappoint one bit. This was my second Team event and yes it truly does live up to the hype. It was great to meet up with so many colleagues from the past as well as see all of those from vendors only spoken to over Zoom. Last week was exhausting but gave every attendee a chance to gain some real in depth knowledge of the future. I have released a day specific blog outlining the big announcements from those days as well as any other key nuggets, but below is a summary from the whole event.

Team ‘23 is the flagship event for Atlassian. The large solution partners or marketplace partners, alongside Atlassian themselves, come to showcase their work and host speaker sessions for you to gain a better sense of how to use their software. This year it was held in Vegas, inside the venetian convention centre.

Highlights

Day 1

day one is actually more of a partner and community leader day as well as running training and exams at the event. I am not a partner and am currently working on becomming a community leader so while I could not get into any talks today, I certainly made sure to fill the day up with expo walking and meetings with vendors.

Day 2

Day two had to be the most important day of the three. It had the most number of keynotes, therefore the most number of major announcements from Atlassian. Atlassian announced a new product entering Beta, a new acquisition, great feature updates to existing products as well as the most important announcement (in my eyes), Atlassian intelligence. Below is a quick catchup on some of these announcements, but check out the full blog for more information:

  • Atlassian together released for $11 per person.

  • Atlassian acquire K15T’s Orderly database for Confluence.

  • JSM gets new no code JSM portal customisations allowing a better user experience.

  • Beacon, the new Point-A product into Beta.

  • Confluence gets whiteboards.

Day 3

Day 3 luckily quietened down a little. Less speaker sessions but still a lot to digest. I Spent time anytime outside some of the vendor speak sessions walking around the expo hall to see marketplace partners that I had not really interacted with before. Its always important to understand what is new and exciting, even if it seems like a kind in the candy shop purely as you can often find those little gems to solve those challenges.

Tempo announce the acquisition of Old street solutions officially. While there were some good rumours flying around the ecosystem, we officially got the notice that this did happen. Great work by Tempo and Old street to have the happen in time.

Of course I could not leave without talking about my talk with Appfire. Today we spoke about some of challenges of governing and keeping your instance clean while at scale.

K15t, 55 degrees, Appfox.

Bash

To end all Team events is Bash. The Atlassian party. A great way to end a busy week of meetings and conversations. Bash allows us all to let our hair down and have some fun.

Takeaways and changes for the future

Team ‘23 continues to be a worth while event for the ecosystem. Large announcements by Atlassian and their partners help give us an insight into the way the market is shaping. We can see a lot of acquisitions by Appfire & Tempo within the Marketplace, as well as Solution partners acquiring like Adaptavist, CPrime and Eficode.

Team ‘23 is more then just the announcements though. It is an opportunity to continue to develop the necessary relationships between partners and customers or Atlassian and customers so that future you can benefit. When I wasn’t looking at what was new I was trying to make the most and developing these relationships.

With all this information in hand, I have spent the last week looking my own plans internally to help see and discuss with teams where the new knowledge can continue to benefit us. These events are to provide an insight and give us the opportunity to constantly challenge ourselves with new ways of thinking and ultimately improve our productivity.

I will be releasing new blogs soon on the major announcements within the ecosystem, so we can do some deeper dives into the new functionality. Stay tuned!
